In-Depth Interviews: We conducted in-depth interviews with dog owners, addressing various aspects of dog interactions, challenges, information sharing among owners, health issues, care practices, and training. Engaging with a diverse group of 4 dog owners of different ages and genders, valuable insights emerged. Participants expressed a keen interest in fostering a dog-centric community, emphasizing the potential for each member to contribute expertise and support. They highlighted the need for shared dialogue among dog lovers, recognizing the benefits of forming a supportive community. Participants conveyed the constant companionship required by dogs and the potential for a community to alleviate the challenges of solo dog care. Notably, interviewees found it peculiar that there isn't a dedicated dog owners' community, expressing a desire for a platform where they can connect, share experiences, and seek advice. The interviews underscored the lack of readily available information, both offline and online, particularly in times of health concerns. Respondents envisioned a community where dogs could meet, and owners could exchange information, potentially creating a network that extends beyond the digital realm, facilitating connections between both canines and their human companions

Field Observations: our research extended beyond interviews, involving observations of dog owners in various settings such as dog parks and streets. This observational approach allowed us to comprehend the nuances of behavior and interactions between dog owners, as well as between them and their dogs. We sought to gain a holistic understanding of the dynamics and conduct within these contexts.

Internet Search: we conducted an internet search to explore the existence of online communities for dog owners and comprehensive information regarding dog upbringing. Our findings indicated that while some information is available, these communities may not be sufficiently active. This highlights a potential gap in the online landscape for dog owners, reinforcing the importance of creating a platform like DOGOST to fulfill the unmet needs expressed by dog owners during our research.

Outcome: In response to the identified needs and desires expressed by dog owners during our research, we are launching a user-centric platform named DOGOST. This platform aims to transform the envisioned dog-centric community into a reality, offering a space where dog owners can connect, share experiences, and seek advice. DOGOST will serve as a comprehensive resource, addressing the lack of readily available information by providing insights into dog interactions, health, care practices, and training. The platform is designed to alleviate the challenges of solo dog care by fostering constant companionship and mutual support among community members. Our ultimate goal is to create a thriving digital environment that enhances the overall well-being of dogs, strengthens the sense of community among their owners, and facilitates meaningful connections both online and, in the future, in real-life interactions between canines and their human companions.
